WiMax Systems Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

- Design the access protocols for our 802.16 (WiMAX) wireless network product. Design lower level media access control (MAC) algorithms. Document such signaling in an airlink interface control document.

- Simulate the performance of our wireless product using OPNET particularly the MAC scheduler. Update the access protocol to minimize latency and maximize throughput and utilization. Validate the scheduling algorithms that allocate bandwidth to subscribers.

Candidate Qualifications:

- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Proficiency in OPNET and C.

- Minimum 5 years experience with MAC design and simulation.

- Interpersonal and communications skills to work effectively with software engineers.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

- Familiarity with the OFDMA PHY of the 802.16 standard and the WiMAX profiles.

- Wireless MAC design experience.

- Strong written communication skills including the ability to write clear and accurate technical papers.

- Ability to methodically and logically develop and analyze access protocols.

- PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

- Candidate must have OPNET
